Simple, Easy Chia Berry Jam Recipe

Easy Simple Chia Berry Jam Recipe

I love berries, and most of the year I’m buying frozen berries because they are more affordable and last way longer than their fresh counterparts. Frozen berries are picked at peak ripeness and flash-frozen—so that they can have a better flavor than fresh out-of-season berries.

Now berries are starting to be in season and I’m looking forward to fresh berries! For the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing any incredible berry recipes I run across!

Whether berries are fresh or frozen, they are incredibly nutritious. They’re low in sugar and packed with fiber, vitamins, and minerals and are one of the most antioxidant-rich foods around! You really can’t go wrong with berries!

Let’s start with this 2-ingredient (I love simplicity!) Chia Berry Jam 😊. It comes together in less than 10 minutes and gives any slice of toast a fiber boost, plus a healthy dose of Omega 3s!

Chia Berry Jam
Ingredients:
1/2 cup berries (any kind, fresh or frozen, unsweetened)
2 tsp. chia seeds

Instructions:

  • Place berries in a small saucepan on medium heat to warm, being careful to not overheat.
  • Stir in chia seeds and let set a few minutes to gel.

Spread any kind of nut butter (my favorite is almond butter) or coconut oil (my favorite is Healthy Traditions Gold) on top of any kind of toasted bread product (my favorite is homemade sourdough Einkorn), and then top with this delicious, nutritious Chia Berry Jam!
