Hi, I’m Susan!
I’m a mom, and now a grandma. I’ve spent decades learning all about natural approaches to health and wellness, for my own family and for my nutrition clients. But I didn’t start off that way…
When I had my first baby, I knew very little about natural health. And I assumed my child’s doctor had all the answers on how to keep him healthy.
But when my baby was 6 months old, I could tell he was coming down with a cold.
Thinking back to my school days, I remembered that Vitamin C prevents scurvy and Vitamin D prevents rickets. So I thought if I called the doctor, he’d be able to tell me what to give my child to prevent him from getting this cold.
I was shocked when the nurse told me there was nothing I could do. She said I should wait until he got sick and then bring him in to get a prescription. But I wasn’t interested in sitting around and waiting for my child to get sick enough to need pharmaceutical medication. There had to be something I could do!
So I committed myself to learning all I could about how to keep my family healthy. It took hundreds of hours in research — and a lot of trial and error — but over the years I learned exactly which foods to use (and how to best prepare them) to support my family members’ immune systems and overall wellness.
During those years I also started my nutrition practice as a registered dietitian. The same foods and supplements that have kept my family healthy have worked for my nutrition clients as well. And now I’m going to share what I’ve learned over those decades with you!
